under evaluation
LoRa Mesh
We are testing LoRa mesh for commercial open-source applications — applications that keep working without internet and without electricity.
What we are testing right now
Stationary Chrome PWAs with Bluetooth LE that reconcile their local-first databases with mobile devices — peer to peer, over CRDTs, with no server in between.
Where it would be used
- Booking systems with little metadata and little tracking, for fitness and yoga studios.
- Booking systems for coworking spaces with several locations.
Conceivable, not built yet
Devices in branches that reconcile their data over WebRTC and over a LoRa mesh — whichever of the two happens to be there.
Work on this with us
We are looking for people to try this with: studios and coworking spaces that would run it, radio amateurs who know the band, and developers who want the open-source side. If that is you, get in touch.
What runs today is the Bluetooth part. LoRa itself is under evaluation: the radio carries very little data and its airtime is regulated. What fits through it, and what does not, is exactly what we are finding out.
